In June 2006 I started putting up one page per day of my novel, which is titled NEW YEAR'S EVE. The novel has 150 pages, and the very last page was posted on December 31, 2006. I have already started writing a sequel. The novel was written with 9 to 12 year olds in mind - but anyone can read it!
What follows is the very first page. For more, simply follow the link at the bottom of the page!
My website has an interesting photo on each page, something like this:

This is my dog Maggie - and she plays an important part in my website! There are tons of photos of her (and her friends) on my novel's site.

The phone rang. It rang once, then twice, then three times.
Mary called out, “Could you please get it, Eve? I just can’t manage at the moment.” I took a deep breath and picked up the receiver.
“Eve?” asked Daddy, “Is that you? Are you all right?”
“I’m fine, Daddy.”
“How are you, darling?” asked Daddy. “How was school?”
“I’m fine. Everything is fine,” I answered. ”When will you be home?”
“That’s why I’m calling,” said Daddy. “I need to speak to Mary about staying on for a bit. The rehearsal took up a lot of time today, and there are things in the script we have to go over before quitting.”
Daddy is an actor. He works in the theatre, and sometimes he works in television or in film. He isn’t famous or anything, and people don’t often recognize him on the street, which is a good thing because that would really bother me.
“I’ll get Mary,” I said.
I walked with the phone to the kitchen. Mary was busy unloading groceries. I passed her the phone.
“Hello David. Mmmm. Oh. Yes. Mmmmm. Well, all right. Yes. Fine,” she said. Then she passed the phone back to me. “Here you go. Your father wants another word.”
I took the phone and went into the living room. It was starting to rain, and it was already dark outside. “Yes, Daddy?” I asked.
