Baby Gorilla
In some countries, a diaper is called a 'nappie'.
This is a poem about a baby gorilla who was born
in a zoo in Australia and who really did have his
own little nursery!
Baby gorilla at the zoo,
Isn't he just like me and you ...
When we were babies?
Bottles and nappies,
Rattles and mush,
Why you would think
He was one of us!
He lives in a nursery,
He sleeps in a cot.
He loves a good cuddle
And a nice long suck
On his thumb!
He's got big brown eyes,
He's small, soft and round.
He dangles from his playpen,
Toes touching the ground.
But something is odd,
And I'm not sure quite what.
He's sweet and he's cute
And I like him a lot ...
... I saw his mummy and daddy today.
"Lowland Gorillas," I hear someone say.
His mummy and daddy are ever so huge ...
Will baby gorilla grow that big too
Some day?
The End
