This poem is short, but I hope you find it sweet!
Martha
ALMOST FOUR
Four is what I'm going to be
When I'm finished being three.
I'm nearly finished being three,
So four is what I'm going to be!
It's true that I am really three,
But not much longer will I be.
I have to wait a little more
Until I'm absolutely four.
A couple of weeks, and then you'll see,
I'll be four - no more three!
Three was fun, I'd have to say,
Lots of things to do all day.
But four is what I almost am,
And it feels good to say I can:
Tie my shoes
And write my name,
Dress myself,
Invent a game,
Ride a bike and not complain
If I can't go out because of rain!
I've learned to share and pick up toys,
And if I'm making too much noise,
I'll wait before I make some more
'Cause after all,
I'M ALMOST FOUR!

THE END**
